UNITED WAY
On Wednesday, March 30, the staff at Concord Intermediate School earned a breakfast of coffee and donuts, as well as a fancy new traveling trophy for their generosity during the United Way campaign. CIS led the corporation in contributions per capita!
Here are the top three donating schools per capita:
- Concord Intermediate School, $92.00 per capita
- South Side Elementary School, $25.21 per capita
- Concord Junior High School, $11.89 per capita
Overall, CCS employees donated a total of $19,203 in one-time contributions and payroll deductions. These funds will continue to support the health, education, and financial well-being of our community members. Thank you!
MAKE-A-WISH
An already impressive closing ceremony event at Concord Junior High School got even more exciting on Wednesday afternoon as organizers announced this year's record-breaking grand total raised during the month-long Make-A-Wish campaign...
An ASTOUNDING $51,270 was raised – the most money EVER raised by CJHS during a Make-A-Wish campaign! WOW!
The funds will benefit two local kids, as well as many others, who will be granted wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Read more here: https://www.concordschools.com/article/699575
We can't express enough gratitude to everyone who was involved in this campaign, but especially Heather Brunswick, Katie Shelton, and Kristen Weatherholt for organizing all of the activities and showing everyone that "Concord's Back!"
POTTER'S MARATHON
Last, but not least, the staff and students involved in the Concord Potter's Marathon held their annual banquet on Wednesday night and announced the proceeds from their fundraiser for Riley Children's Hospital -- an impressive $26,000!
Thank you to CHS art teacher Bob Bieber for making this happen every year for our students!
All three of these events are great reminders of the importance of philanthropy – not to mention teaching our kids to think first of others, without expecting anything in return! – and what greatness can be accomplished when we all work together!
