Meet the School Board: Tim Yoder
As a member of the Concord School Board, Tim Yoder applauds Concord Community Schools for making decisions based on the needs of all students. Yoder was elected in November 2012 and took office in January 2013.
“We have the most dedicated teams working for student achievement, our facilities are front and center, and we cast a wide net to offer a top-notch variety of activities for students ranging from sports to performing arts and academic clubs to community organizations,” he said.
Yoder graduated from Goshen High School in 1983 and attended Grace College.
For the past 20 years, he has worked for Premium Waters, Inc., a large-scale bottled water company that produces private label water for major retailers. Today, he serves as a regional sales manager.
He and his wife, Kathy (Goerlach) Yoder, a 1986 Concord graduate, have lived in the Concord Community Schools district for 25 years. Their children, Katie and Jacob, are also Concord graduates.
In his years on the school board, Yoder said his most eye-opening experience has been understanding school finance and the budget process.
His most inspirational experience? “Watching individual students achieve their success, and supporting outstanding Concord Community Schools staff members who help drive student success everyday.”
In addition to his work on behalf of Concord Community Schools, Yoder is also an active member of the Elkhart County 4-H Fair Board where he served for 15 years as the fair concessions director. He also served as an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) coach for travel basketball and enjoyed seeing AAU teammates compete against each other for their respective high school teams. He attends Faith United Methodist Church. Yoder also served 12 years on the National Spina Bifida Board in Washington, D.C.
His hobbies include working, running, and watching athletic events at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.
